Rather than becoming overwhelmed by the moods and emotions that can wash through us, or being pulled away from the present moment by an endless stream of thoughts, mindfulness offers a way to regain mastery of ourselves and find peace and acceptance. The opportunity to be fully present, in body, mind and space - calmly acknowledging and accepting our feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations without judgement, and with kindness and compassion both for ourselves and subsequently for others.
